Product Overview

Centrifugally cast ductile iron water mains leave the foundry in 6-metre lengths, with bores spanning DN40 up to DN2600 (DN500 is the most stocked line size). Joints come T-type, K-type, N-type socket-and-spigot or flanged, picked against the site condition the fire protection contractor calls out. The spigot is spun to a smooth finish, so the gasket seats without a lip when the crew pushes the joint home.

A single-piece release means a specialty header size can be pulled without a minimum, and the invoice lands between US $600 and US $1,000 depending on bore and joint. The pipe goes into fire pump headers, municipal water mains and buried transmission lines.

Key Features

The ductile iron body carries the fire pump header between the pump room and the grid, and the T/K/N socket-and-spigot joint lets the buried main follow ground movement without a joint leak. Flanged lengths are held for the pump-room header and the valve-chamber connections a brigade isolates on test day.

The 6-metre length lays fast by a trenching crew. Each spigot is fitted with a gasket, a push-joint ring, and a YH stencil showing bore and pressure class, then strapped on a steel cradle for the sea leg.
