Product Overview

The bevel on a stainless 45-degree elbow is ground after the bend, then the body is pickled to brighten the heat tint. Grades held off the shelf are SS304, SS316 and SS316L, with ends prepared for butt weld, thread or socket weld so a process contractor picks the combination the chemical line calls out. The pickling bath lifts the oxide scale, which is why the weld prep reads clean when the inspector checks it.

A grade shelf entry starts at ten pieces, and the piece invoice runs from US $1.8 up to US $90 depending on bore and grade. The bend reroutes a chemical feed past a vessel without a custom miter, which is how it suits a skid that must be built in the shop and shipped as a unit.

SS304 covers general corrosive service; SS316 steps up for chloride and marine exposure; SS316L is the low-carbon version for field-welded chemical lines where carbide precipitation is a concern. Butt-weld ends give a smooth bore on the feed line; threaded ends the small instrument take-offs; socket-weld ends the branches a welder must fillet.

Each batch is heat-number stenciled, end-capped, and packed in a plywood crate. The YH mark is rolled on the outer curve so it reads after installation.
