Product Overview

A composite manhole cover does not ring when a bus crosses it, and it never disappears from the kerb in a scrap-metal run - the SMC moulding is pressed for municipal drainage openings from DN500 up to DN1000.

Each cover is compression-moulded from sheet moulding compound under heat so the finished piece is homogeneous rather than a painted shell over a core, then the top surface is textured anti-slip and the hinge seat fitted before it leaves. Certified to EN124. Entry starts at ten pieces; FOB spans US $10 to $15 per cover, YH marked.

Key Features

SMC composite resists the corrosive wash of a drainage chamber - no rust bleed onto the pavement, no scrap value, unlike a cast iron lid that walks away overnight. It also dampens the traffic noise a metal cover throws back across the kerb.

The anti-slip surface and the flush seating suit a footpath or a carriageway opening where a loose rattle would be a nuisance. Held as stock sizes rather than bespoke tooling, the covers let a municipal contractor replace one missing lid at a time.
